Tuesdays (8 weeks: 9/27, 10/11, 10/18, 10/26, 11/1, 11/15, 11/29, 12/6, make up 12/13):

Grossology: Enter a world of all things gross as we venture into the body and take a look at how things work. We’ll check out the nasal passages to see boogers growing and into the ear canal where wax abounds. The digestive system will show us how burps, farts, and barf sing their songs and the process that produces number one and number two will fascinate you beyond anything you’ve ever imagined! We’ll create artwork, do some basic science experiments and have a total blast as we learn about the world full of grossness that lives in us all. Instructor to be provided by Artsy Smartsy$170 for 8 classes.  Max 12 students. 

 

Little Ninjas:  Modeled after the fun and challenge of the TV show “American Ninja Warrior,” Little Ninjas will teach the basics of agility and strength by having the participants run through various obstacle courses each week.  Little Ninjas will run, hop, climb, and crawl their way to victory against the clock.  We’ll train for the events and play fun games during the period to keep everyone moving!  SNEAKERS ARE MANDATORY and light tumbling will occur.  Instructor: Mike Czech.  $195 for 8 classes.  Max 16 students.

 

Magic Illusions: A Magician Never Reveals their secrets… Except in this All-New amazing Magic Course!  In Hobby Quest’s Magic Illusions, you will learn the secrets from a Master Magician that enable you to make objects disappear and reappear, read minds, predict the future, aa well as cut things in half and magically restore them to whole.  Once you’ve mastered your magical illusions, you’ll even get to share your new skills with friends and family in a real magic show at your school…and keep all the tricks!  It’s Magic! Learn it! Perform it! Keep it! Instructor to be provided by Hobby Quest.  $205 for 8 classes.  Max 16 students.

 

Wednesdays (8 weeks: 9/28, 10/12, 10/19, 10/26, 11/2, 11/16, 11/30, 12/7, Make up 12/14):

Chess: Premier Chess is excited to partner with Long Hill Force to offer a chess class for all students. We will teach rules, discuss strategy, and learn about tactical themes that can get students ready to compete in tournaments. Instructor to be provided by Premier Chess.  $195 for 8 classes.  Max 25 students.

 

Crazy Chem Works: Welcome to the world of chemistry! Children make gooey slime, experiment with different reactions and learn to use the tools that chemists use. Polymers and catalysts are only two of the fascinating concepts young scientists explore in this thrilling trip through the chemistry lab! Instructor to be provided by Mad Science.  $200 for 8 classes.  Max 20 students.

 

Space Odyssey: Travel the stars with us as we become space pioneers exploring the galaxy and creating some amazing artful projects along the way. We’ll talk about our amazing solar system, build models of some planets and their moons, and learn how gravity and weather are different everywhere in the Universe. Then we will learn about supernovas, the Milky Way and the future of the NASA, and other space programs. Instructor to be provided by Artsy Smartsy$170 for 8 classes.  Max 12 students.

 

Stars on Stage:  In Stars on Stage, students will spend 8 one-hour classes learning theatre fundamentals like stage craft, projection and diction, and character building through games, exercises, and rehearsals. Taking creative risks, developing the imagination, and a nonjudgmental environment will be emphasized in order to make all students feel welcome. A short audition process and rehearsals will culminate in a short performance of a pre-chosen play, Wizard of Oz, on the day of the final class. Instructor: Mariah Dalton from Wharton Institute of Performing Arts.  $190 for 8 classes.   Max 14 students.

 

Thursdays (8 weeks: 9/29, 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/17, 12/1, Make up 12/8):

PE Games & Activities with Mr. Manto:  This class will be held at Gillette in the Gym. This is a great opportunity for kids to move, have fun, and socialize with their peers. Mr. Manto will have the students playing PE class favorites as well as introduce some new games and activities.  Instructor: Josh Manto.  $90 for 8 classes.  Max 25 students.  

 

 

Millington School

Mondays (6 weeks: 10/3, 10/17, 10/24, 11/7, 11/21, 11/28, make up 12/5):

Volleyball (4TH & 5th Grade):  The goal of the FORCE volleyball program is to help children develop movement skills and volleyball specific skills in order to move and play with the basic passing and playing fundamentals of the game. The kids will participate in volleyball specific games and drills as well as become part of team building and leadership exercises!  THE MONDAY CLASS IS OPEN TO 4TH & 5TH GRADE ONLY. Instructor: Megan Knott.   $120 for 6 classes.  Max 20 students.

 

Mondays (8 weeks: 10/3, 10/17, 10/24, 11/7, 11/21, 11/28, 12/5, 12/12, make up 12/19):

ROBLOX:  Students will dive into the world of ROBLOX, giving them the creative freedom to build and explore new worlds.  We will explore new servers each week offering up team based competitive games, tycoons, and simulators. Students will work together, join games as a group or simply enjoy the company of like-minded gamers in games of their choice.  No previous experience necessary. ROBLOX accounts can be pre-made or students can make them for free in class.  Instructor: Andrew Nestler.  $100 for 8 classes.  Max 24 students.

Embroidery Circle:  Embroidery is a lovely creative pastime, encouraging social interaction while giving us a break from the craziness in the world. The pieces that you stitch are unique and special works of art. Join our friendly stitching circle and become engrossed in a classic and timeless art while you learn a few stitches and create beautiful hand-crafted accessories with embroidered needle art. Instructor to be provided by Artsy Smartsy$170 for 8 classes.  Max 12 students.

 

Outdoor Adventure:  In this class, students will explore the bountiful garden located at Millington school and the grounds which surround it. They will learn about different types of plants, wild animals and they will plant and harvest crops. Students will also learn about outdoor skills like using maps, compasses, identifying landmarks, and general navigation. Through participating in this class, students will learn the science behind their natural world which will draw them closer to their natural surroundings. They will learn skills that can be used on a daily basis as they learn about conservation, sustainability and proper care of our environment. Instructors:  Shannon Butler & Andrew Nestler.  $100 for 8 classes.  Max 24 students.

Wednesdays (8 weeks:  9/28, 10/12, 10/19, 10/26, 11/2, 11/16, 11/30, 12/7, Make up 12/14):

Clay Play: Join in the fun as we explore many different ways to create with clay. Throughout history, pottery has been the container of choice for storing, serving and preserving foods, liquids and other goods in the home and hearth. It has also been the medium of choice for making jewelry and other decorative items that enhance our lives and build self-esteem. We’ll use air dry clay to sculpt and mold, make jewelry and kinetic art with polymer clay, and have an awesome time with everyone’s favorite - Model Magic! Instructor to be provided by Artsy Smartsy.  $170 for 8 classes.  Max 12 students.

 

Cursive Club (for beginners): This club is for students who have not been exposed to cursive at all or those who possess only a limited knowledge of it. We will practice writing the letters of the alphabet individually. We will begin each class with a gross motor activity to awaken the large muscle groups. Next, we will move into a visual motor activity to get the eyes and hands working together. Then we will work on fine motor skills, the handwriting portion. We will end each session with self- and/or group assessments.  Instructor: Pam Kmetz.  $120 for 8 classes.  Max 12 students.

DanceFIT (2nd & 3rd Grade):  DanceFIT is a dance fitness class. This is a great opportunity to learn new dances, stay active, and make new friends! All children are welcome no matter their experience or level of dancing! We will end each class with stretching and yoga. THIS CLASS IS OPEN TO 2ND & 3RD GRADE ONLY. Instructor: Dana Cursi.  $110 for 8 classes.  Max 20 students.  

Fashion on the Runway:  Dressing up for a night out has never been so much fun! Join us in this class and create your very own one-of-a-kind outfit to wear for a fun night out with your friends! This isn’t something you’ll see in a celebrity magazine; you will be the only one that has this adorable outfit! We’ll teach you everything you need to know to design, create and alter a really cute outfit that will be just for you. From the original sketch to the final fitting, we’ll guide you through the process of creating an ensemble of your very own! Once we’re done, you’ll even have your day on the runway when we have a special fashion show for your friends and family where you can model your design. Constructing VEX Robotics:  Students will spend 8 weeks doing hands on projects in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.  For the first four weeks students will be introduced to Electronics and Robotics by using a mini breadboard and building a simple circuit then build a Spider Robot to take home. They will then use the VEX GO Robotics System. All Robotics activities are hands-on, engaging, and focus on the engineering design process. Students will have the opportunity to build and design, robots. They will be divided into groups by age and experience. Students will review the VEX Robotics components and build various Robots.  All levels welcome.  Instructor: Moncia Burch, founder of ConstructU.  $195 for 8 classes.  Max 20 students.

 

Thursdays (6 weeks: 9/29, 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, Make up 11/17):

Floor is Lava: Floor is Lava is a game where players must imagine the floor is molten hot lava. The players must complete the obstacle course with their team to cross to the other side. The Floor is Lava! is a family game that promotes physical activity, an active imagination, and engaging excitement for kids and adults.  This game gets children jumping, leaping, playing, and improving their strength, conditioning, balance, and endurance! It also allows students to work on team building and problem solving. Each week there will be a different obstacle course & game. Instructor: Brittany Giordano.  $120 for 6 classes.  Max 20 students.

 

Maker Space (3rd & 4th Grade):  In this brand-new class, students will be able to explore the world of STEM and be able to bring out their inner creativity. Each week students will be doing a new hands-on STEM activity that will allow them to work collaboratively with one another and to embrace their curiosity, resourcefulness, and persistence.  THIS CLASS IS OPEN TO 3RD & 4TH GRADE ONLY.  Instructors: Pam Fitzsimmons & Emily Taylor.  $120 for 6 classes.  Max 20 students.

Fitness & Games:  This class will feature 2 to 3 different activities each week.  Activities will include discussions on nutrition, bones & muscles, Dodge Ball (foam ball), Volleyball (beach ball), Soccer, Basketball, Kick ball & Wacky Kickball, Team Hand Ball, Capture the Flag, and Hyperspace/tag games.  Please note, activities may vary depending on the age of the class.  Instructor: Mike Lisbona.  $100 for 8 classes.  Max 44 students

 

Fridays (8 weeks: 9/30, 10/7, 10/14, 10/21, 10/28, 11/4, 11/18, 12/2, Make up 12/9):

Just Breathe:  This is a yoga/mindfulness class which will include breathing exercises, yoga poses, games and guided relaxation. Just Breathe will teach children how to reduce stress in a healthy way, an important life skill that will help them as children and as adults. Students will also benefit from improving their balance, flexibility and body awareness in this class.  Instructor: Pam Kmetz.  $120 for 8 classes.  Max 15 students.

Central School

 

All classes will run from 3:00-4:00

 

Wednesdays (8 weeks:  9/28, 10/12, 10/19, 10/26, 11/2, 11/16, 11/30, 12/7, Make up 12/14):

Enrichment Math:  Build a stronger foundation for algebra, geometry, and college-level mathematics.  The first part of the course develops a firm understanding of integers and fractions, sets, and operations.  The second part explores more advanced topics through proofs and creative problem solving.  Topics will be based on student interests and may include sequences and limits, vectors, geometry, deductive proofs, combinatorics, and probability.  Instructor: James Einloth.  $150 for 8 classes.  Max 20 students.
