Brixology: Kindergarten – 1st Grade
BRIXOLOGY sets the foundation for our next generation of makers! Kids learn about different types of engineering and then team up to construct a different engineering-themed project using LEGO bricks. They learn about aerospace engineering well assembling a space station. They explore mechanical engineering as they build boats and vehicles. That’s not all, from carnival rides to drawing machines, mechanical animals to truss bridges; your future engineer will build upon their creativity to solve real-world design challenges, while developing their problem-solving and team-building skills. Let the tinkering begin!

Stars on Stage: Kindergarten – 1st Grade
In Stars on Stage, students will spend 8 one-hour classes learning theatre fundamentals like stage directions, projection and diction, and character building through games, exercises, and rehearsals. All students will be welcome to engage in creative risk-taking and make imaginative choices in a nonjudgmental environment. A casual audition process will take place during the first class, and rehearsals will culminate in a short performance of the pre-chosen play "Alice in Wonderland".

Come and create different types of jewelry! We will make different types of bracelets, necklaces, and key chains. This is a fun and creative way for children to be creative, interact with their peers, and strengthen their fine motor skills.

Masterpiece Artist: Painter’s Paradise: 1st Grade Only
In this fantastical art class, young artists will embark on a thrilling adventure through the world of art, exploring the styles and techniques of the masters. From the swirling colors of Van Gogh's sunflowers to the dreamlike landscapes of Dalí's surrealist masterpieces, each week will introduce a new iconic artwork to inspire and delight.
As they gaze upon the masterpieces, our mini artists will discover the secrets behind the brushstrokes, colors, and composition that make these works so extraordinary. And then, it's time to get creative! With their newfound inspiration, they'll unleash their imagination and bring their own unique vision to life, experimenting with various mediums and techniques to create stunning original artworks.

Premier Chess is excited to offer an after-school club for all students. Our chess program endeavors to encourage focus and develop concentration while having fun! After an initial assessment, lessons are customized to fit the needs of the particular group. Students will then develop foresight as they learn strategies, tactics, calculation, thought process etc. and get ready to represent their school at tournaments. Every chess lesson begins with a 15-20 min lesson and demonstration with a specific aim. An activity is then given to the students to reinforce their new skills before playing a full game against one of their fellow students.

Craft Club: Clever Crafters: Pre-Kindergarten 4 – 1st Grade
Clever Crafters" is a fun and interactive class designed for younger kids. Our clever crafters will embark on a creative adventure, exploring various materials and techniques to create their own unique masterpieces. Each week, we'll dive into a new theme, from colorful collages to whimsical wovens, and everything in between! Our experienced instructors will guide the kids through hands-on projects, encouraging their imagination and creativity. With a focus on developing fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination through hands-on activities, and self-expression, "Clever Crafters" is the perfect way for young makers to unleash their inner artist and develop their crafting skills.

STEM Odyssey: Kindergarten – 1st Grade
Offered September 2024- December 2024 (Kindergarten - Grade 6) In this introductory STEM program, kids explore a variety of introductory topics and learn about the wonders of both the life and physical sciences. They explore themes and answer questions like "What makes your hair stand up?", 'Is it a magnet or magic?", and "Just what are carbs, anyway?"

Let's Draw: Kindergarten – 1st Grade
Calling all artists! Students will get the opportunity to hone their skills through directed drawing. Each week students will learn how to draw a different picture, using crayons, colored pencils, and/or markers to bring their pictures to life. Students will come home with their creations each week, so make room on the fridge!

The Floor is Lava: 2nd – 5th Grade
The Floor is Lava is a game where players must imagine the floor is molten hot lava. The players must complete the obstacle course with their team to cross to the other side. The Floor is Lava! is a family game that promotes physical activity, an active imagination, and engaging excitement for kids and adults. This game gets children jumping, leaping, playing, and improving their strength, conditioning, balance, and endurance! It also allows students to work on team building and problem solving. Each week there will be a different obstacle course & game.

Come explore the world of watercolor painting as you learn about the fundamental techniques, play with color, and create beautiful artwork through step by step instructions. Each week you will create and take home your unique masterpiece.

Roblox: 2nd – 5th Grade
Students will dive into the world of ROBLOX, giving them the creative freedom to build and explore new worlds. We will explore new servers each week offering up team based competitive games, tycoons, and simulators. Students will work together, join games as a group or simply enjoy the company of like-minded gamers in games of their choice. No previous experience necessary. ROBLOX accounts can be pre-made or students can make them for free in class. Students are responsible for providing their own devices for this class.

Want to make new friends while getting your homework done? Need a quiet place to study? Look no further! Study Stars provide a supportive and focused environment for students to complete their homework and play learning games. Let's conquer that homework together!

Kids On the Run: 3rd – 5th Grade
The class will inspire you to build confidence and other important life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and physical exercise. Through team building activities we will bring awareness to the importance of lifting each other up to accomplish our goals. We will practice building endurance and stamina as we work towards an end goal of running or walking an OPTIONAL 5K together as a team! No need to be an athlete or runner, and you do not need to sign up for the 5K to take part in this class! The Fall 5K is to be determined. More information will be provided later.

Basic Sewing Made Easy and Fun: 2nd – 5th Grade
The House of Dezign’s Basic Sewing Made Easy and Fun Course inspires and teaches children and teens how to sew as well as fashion etiquette. The young designers learn how to sew step by step with classes that include instruction on pillows, dolls, how to sew buttons and more. By the end of the course, students who are brand new to sewing will be able to complete projects independently.

Messy Science: Extreme Experiments: 2nd - 5th Grade
Get ready to ignite your curiosity and blow your mind! In our Extreme Experiments class, you'll be the mad scientist, conducting crazy cool experiments that will make a mess, create a splash, and maybe even make a big boom! From exploding chemical reactions to messy mysteries, we'll push the limits of science and have a blast doing it. The Meraki Mixed Media Art Class: 2nd – 5th Grade
We aim to teach technique and allow for them to be applied to make artwork to bring home. You can expect at least three pieces of artwork to be completed using varying mediums and techniques. Projects include reusable mixed media art techniques, introducing textures or weaving with paper art and self-portraits.

LEGO ROBOTICS: Robot Rumble! 2nd - 5th Grade
Get ready for a ROBOTIC RUMBLE! In Robot Rumble, students will unleash their inner robot warriors and build their own LEGO bots out of Legos. With a dash of creativity, a pinch of programming, and a whole lot of fun, students will design, build, and battle their own robots in a tournament-style competition. Will your bot be the champion of speed, agility, or might? Find out in RoboRumble!

Track and Field: 2nd – 5th Grade
Participants in the 2-5 program will work with and learn from a Track and Field athlete. The program is appropriate for beginners. Athletes will review proper warm-up routines and running form, how to hurdle & long jump. They will participate in fun running games and activities. This program is designed to expose young athletes to the sport of track and field and running in general.

Outdoor Adventures: 2nd Grade – 5th Grade
In this class, students will explore the bountiful garden located at Millington school and the grounds which surround it. They will learn about different types of plants, wild animals and they will plant and harvest crops. Students will also learn about outdoor skills like using maps, compasses, identifying landmarks, and general navigation. Through participating in this class, students will learn the science behind their natural world which will draw them closer to their natural surroundings. They will learn skills that can be used on a daily basis as they learn about conservation, sustainability and proper care of our environment.

Helping Hands Club: 2nd -5th Grade
Service oriented club that supports social, emotional growth for the students and for others in need.
